What bad things can happen to someone who has won the lottery? Of course, someone spends all the money thoughtlessly or is haunted by bad luck. But sometimes people are sure that they have received a substantial sum of money, but in fact it turns out that this is not the case. The reasons may be different, time, chance, failure and so on, but everything leads to no winnings.
Thomas Ward, a resident of California, asked his son to exchange some winning tickets for new ones and bring the change.
After the man and his child returned home, they discovered that one of their tickets had brought the winnings of 5 million. Of course, he immediately validated his ticket and applied for the money.
But he never got his winnings, all because the tickets were sold to his son, who was only 16. So it wasn’t legally possible to play in the casino.
In 1995, Clarence Jackson bought a lottery ticket and eventually forgot about it. Many moments played a part in this, but all were missed. But the lucky man had no idea about the winnings.
It wasn’t until a year later that there was an issue on TV about a lottery ticket expiring, where the amount won was almost $6 million. After going through all the available tickets, she still found the winning one. It had to be confirmed, but there was a problem; it was nearly midnight and there was just under an hour to confirm it. But Clarence put it off until the next day, as he didn’t know that it could be done in the shop, thinking that it was compulsory to send it to the office. And so it didn’t work out for him.
At the beginning of January 2015, the legal battle for the rights to the $21 million win came to an end. Josel Ifergan – a resident of Canada spent 7 years and about 100 thousand dollars, but in the end he got nothing.
According to the case materials, back in 2008 the man bought 2 lottery tickets. And as we found out later one of them was printed 7 seconds after the bet had been accepted. And it was this ticket that turned out to be the winning one.
Andreas Bürkli – a Swiss resident won 1 million francs in a TV lottery. But he found out that the organiser had cancelled his winnings due to a technical error.
The rules of the game say that everyone has the opportunity to deposit 10 francs and try their luck. And the software automatically selects the 10 finalists who can hit the jackpot. And the winner is determined live on TV.
The last draw determined just the name of Bürkli, where a guest guest drew a card. The staff congratulated the winner and a suitcase containing the winnings was shown to him. He soon received a phone call, but the man did not answer.
But almost immediately the result of the drawing was cancelled because there were 11 names in the box, not 10.
